Roehr Tool Corporation designs and manufactures patented Collapsible Core, Minicore and Expandable
Cavity technology for molding threaded parts or parts with undercuts, protrusions or cut-outs.
Roehr Tool Corporation (RTC) was founded in 1965 to build and sell the patented Collapsible Core
under the leadership of its founder, George Roehr. Roehr was a mechanical engineer who graduated
from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and he developed and manufactured the Collapsible
Core in Waltham, MA.
In the early 1980’s, RTC developed its now popular Minicores for small applications and about a
decade later the Expandable Cavities for external forming of threads and undercuts was introduced.
In 1985, long-time RTC employee and shop manager, Paul Catalanotti, bought the company
from George Roehr.
In 2006, Progressive Components acquired RTC from Mr. Catalanotti and added RTC’s line of
products to its Injection Mold Tooling catalog.
